On May 11, 2018 the Saint Paul Police Foundation produced one of their most successful annual benefits to date. The Blue Nite Gala took place inside the beautiful rooms of the Saint Paul Hotel and featured both a silent and live auction, as well as a dinner and program.
This year, the Saint Paul Police Foundation and Saint Paul Police Chief Todd Axtell presented two prestigious awards. The Rowan Award annually honors an outstanding officer and this year was no exception. Sargent Mike McGinnn was recognized for his excellent community engagement work, particularly with the Police Activities League or “PAL” program.
A Chief’s Award was also issued to Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo to celebrate the strong partnership between the Minneapolis and Saint Paul police departments.
Overall, the event garnered nearly $100,000 for the Foundation’s work, with an average of $382 raised per attendee—the best average attendee giving ever seen by the Saint Paul Police Foundation. These numbers reflect a huge improvement on the organization and event, who in 2015, saw an average of only $99 raised per attendee with a much larger list of attendees.
SPPF would like to thank all the donors and sponsors for your contribution to the success of the Gala. Many hours of work went into the organization of this event and the Foundation is thrilled with how splendidly it turned out.
